June 14, 2022 | share

After a two year wait due to COVID-19, Sleepy Hollow is ready to make a comeback in celebration of the Fourth of July this year.

From fireworks to parades, to fishing derbies and pie eating contests, our town is set to celebrate the birth of the red, white and blue. Here’s a look at what’s happening this July 2-5 in Sleepy Hollow. Visit Sleepy Hollow’s Fourth of July Celebration event page.

Fireworks – June 2

Due to the cost of fireworks and their availability, this year’s display will be on Saturday, July 2. Parking availability opens at 7 p.m. and closes at 9 p.m. as fireworks will begin at 9:30 p.m.  But this is only a small preview of what Sleepy Hollow has in store for us this year.

Fourth of July Festival – July 4

There’s just so much happening this Fourth of July during Sleepy Hollow’s Fourth of July Festival. Kicking off at 8 a.m on July 4th is a 1 mile fun run starting at Sleepy Hollow Elementary School. This is a race for everyone with participants ranging from walkers with pets to serious runners and cyclists.

From 9 a.m to 11 a.m., bring your fishing rod to the Lake Sharon shoreline in Sabatino Park for the Bob Zdenek Memorial Fishing Derby.

Then at 11:30 a.m. stay at Sabatino Park for the Bill Ritchie Memorial Parade. Afterward, explore a car show, bags tournament, pie eating contest and so much more. Here is the full schedule.
